2025 Reinforcements

Happy New Year! Just a quick update to show some models I finished last year but because of reasons I only got to put them up now. It's another ecclectic mix of gubbins but at least some of it will see table time this year, I promise.

Multicultural Weapons Team

Last year I finished a couple of weapons teams for the Astra Miltarum, here is the final member of team Shoot 'em up. Most notable thing about this team is it contains a Cadian and a Tallarn. Truly proof that the Guard is one big happy, xenos hating family.

Ready to put large calibre but nontheless not very armour piercing munitions into the enemy.

Wannabee Commissar

This Valhallan lieutenant has been painted up as a Commissar with slightly questionable tastes in a uniform. Perhaps he is from a world where ludicrous hats are a thing, or perhaps he comes from Miliner 8 a planet where everyone makes the most of customising their head gear. Perhaps he is just wearing it for a dare. Only he, and by extension, me, knows.
Braggs Vanglore Commissar Extrodinaire!

Ursakar Creed

I can now confirm Ursakar Creed did not actually die at the fall of Cadia, he simple scarpered. With the new Astra Militarum book round the corner he may see some table time as his own daughter, some sort of Oedepus Syndrome in reverse.

Creed shows everyone his thousand yard stare.

Next are two Cadians that missed last muster and have shown up pretending they were here all along. Not much to say about them but they probably went AWOL with Creed on the last shuttle leaving Cadia dressed as orphans.

Privates Shufty and Koggs.

Redemptionist Zealot

This chap is going to join an Inquisitorial Henchmen group as an Eviscerator is just what is required to uncover the truth about whatever Inquisitor is looking into at any specific time. He can also hang out with his other Redemptionist mates if he is ever back on Necromunda, with a hankering for burning heretics. Fun times.

Slobberchops the Mangler

The Problem With Humanity These Days

Is mutants. The one below is a couple of AdMech bits grafted to a Skaven Clansman (or Slave). He is armed with some sort of Radium weapon and a big engorged throat. He will probably feature in a battle whenever I get my Chaos Cultist Army's shit together.

Goiters Malone

The Cops

Finished this month as well is my Adeptus Arbites squad. Cracking models, but I'm hoping to create some improbable occurances where they arrest Chaos Primarchs or an Avatar of Khaine. Or even the Silent King, I'm easy.
Ready to restrain criminals with extreme prejudice and minor glee.

Shotpistol, Webber and Grenade Launcher dudes.

Gimp, Buffalo Bill and Sniper.

One Proctor and his Cyber Hound

So there you have it, the Imperium has been reinforced, and the enemies of mankind will quake with terror at the sight of these heroes. Or something,

Thanks for reading.

A More Wretched Hive Of Scum A Villany?

 Good (insert whatever time related salutation of the day as applicable) readers . As the year gets nearer to the finish line I'm trying to get some more items finished, I have a problem, just applying that last bit of pigment to  totally complete a model, but here are some that I deem done. So here they are;

Drukhari

First up is Beldam Qud, Haemonculis of the Coven of Twelve. Originally she (?!) was meant to be some sort of apothecary for my Inquisimunda Aeldari void pirates band but as I flit about paintwise I stopped playing that about 4 years ago and have just caught up. Not to worry she has already seen a couple of battles where she has acquitted herself adequately. She has a habit of wandering off during the battle away from her bodyguard generally causing her demise. Not a problem, a quick scape up of her remains by a faithful retainer and she'll be right as rain in a day or two. Qud is quite an innovator as her Wracks will testify, being part genestealer part tarrelian. Her current project is to create a Cronos pain engine using the trapped essense of a C'tan Deceiver. Hopefully that will be created sometime in 2022.

Black sports bras are all the rage in the Commoragh.

Next up is a couple of space pirate boats, fantastic models that I've painted in red and purple. Toying with the idea of weathering them as I've seen some really cool effects but in all honesty now they're table ready I will probably move on to the next shiny thing. The one on the left is a Ravager crewed by Incubi helmet wearing Drukhari, are they from the temple? Are they impersonators? Are they overcompensating with the long prong on the front of the vehicle? Time will tell. The right hand vehicle is a Raider crewed by wyches.

The helmselves are currently having a smoke beyond the view of the picture, but I assure you they are professionals.

Some Really Bad Men

Next is Gorky Arris, estranged member of the Arris crime syndicate from Krablokistan. Following an argument with older brother Strangler Arris, Gorky left Paraquat to make a name for himself in the wider galaxy. For many years he was a member of a band of Void Pirates until he was involved in a desperate skirmish against a combined force of Arbites and some Astartes scouts on a kill mission. The pirates were all but wiped out but Gorky escaped by killing a scout and stealing his wargear. He is currently making his way back to Krablokistan to reconcile or kill his brother Strangler. the model itself is an old monopose space marine scout with a maxmini head and genestealer neophyte arm.

Gorky Arris

The next pair of models story bagan with 'I bought some model that were missing bit on eBay'. Essentially both Redemptionists had lost arms in previous battles with hacksaws so I replaced them with power maul hands from Mad Robot Miniatures. They will probably find employment as Inquisitorial Acolytes, general cultists, or even some nasty secret police bullies to crack the heads of the downtrodden masses.

"Move along now, or suffer the consequences!"

So here is the first (and possibly only) Sly Marbo conversion holding a Tyranid Ripper as a club. This is another dismembered eBay model that has received a Gorkamorka Ork arm and a Ripper to hold. I was going to use a machete arm but preferred this anti alien statement. He has wristband with the purple fur of possibly a Cthelian Cudbear. That just makes him way cooler as I'm sure he killed it with Catachan toothpick. As my own Astra Militarum  regiment is not Catachan, this guy's name is Marl Sybo.

99% finished I think, maybe a tattoo and some stubble?

Marl Sybo stares off into the distance looking heroic.

Obligitary Genestealer Hybrids Section

As most updates from me feature hybrids (and I'm not so obtuse as to consider Gorky Arris' arm to count) here are the baldies. As mentioned in a previous post, I have made a Skink/Genestealer hybrid. This particular one was created when a Purestrain genestealer got frisky on jungle world Slimex VI as the Assembly of D'Keddes were passing through the system. The host species, an amphibious Skink was were all but wiped out by Inquisitorial forces following the psychic spoor the the Assembly. Fortunately the wise decision to suck up several tonnes of impregnated Skinkspawn into a transport ship allows this brand new species to continue in some form, and hopefully spread the word of universal love and tolerance whilst executing non believers  galaxy wide.

Glip Muscosity, original Hybrid.

As if that wasn't enough, here are some more hybrids, these are all metal models from many moons ago with some new plastic hybrid arms where applicable. All ready to do the will of the cult by handing out pamphlets and singing hymns in public plazas and by cutting faces off the infidels.

Left to right; Shooter McGuckian, Hunchy Golbus and Glip Muscocity.

Left to right; Hunchy's brother Slumpy, Angry Marv and demolitions expert Trumk Wallbane.

Bonus Model

And as if all that 40k goodness wasn't enough, here is a 28 years in the painting Skaven Doomwheel. I have used this model many times in my many WFB games but I have only just got the motivation to get it ready for the table. Not that I see any chance of it actually getting on the table for a while, at least until Warhammer Fantasy Battle with all it's square based glory is rebooted. Still, I have another two of these to make ready for that glorious day.

Quick-quick, here is some skaven word-speak to denote man death.

So that's what I done, hope it is of interest, don't forget to hobby responsibly and stay as safe as is possble within the construct of the constant media driven frenzy of the current endemic.

Thanks for Reading.

The Retrieval.

We had another game of Rogue 40Kamunda (which is what I've decided to call the hybrid of games that fall into the catagory of Sci Fi skirmishing) which turned out pretty good fun. There were 4 players, myself, Boy, Arch and Eeee (henceforth refered to as just E!). The forces were Imperial Guard Vs Chaos cultists and general scum. The plot was a routine patrol had been waylaid by bandits and killed . What wasn't known by the bandits was there was a decoder on board that could be of vital importance to anyone wishing to know the patrol plans, troop postions and ammunition guards within a 300km radius. Unable to remove the decoder with the available manpower the bandits go and get reinforcements. Just as they return two hastily deployed Imperial Guard forces arrive to retreive the decoder. The ensuing fight was to determine the fate of that quite bulky piece of equipment.
Boy and E! took 15 guardsmen each, Arch took approximately 15 Redemptionists (with a warzone heavy machine gunner that counted as a heavy stubber) with a couple of underhive low lifes to make the group up to a fun sized raider group. I took about 12 Scavvys plus a beastman with an autogun and Idolatror Jobes an old citadel model that looks quite a lot like Indianna Jones. The forces weren't exactly even but I used the rule that if a model is holding two guns he is assumed to be a gunfighter.I rather foolishly used Scavvy stats so my entire force had a BS of 2, except for the beastman and Idolatror whom I considered to be just an average gang leader (who keeps some very unsavoury companions). We used an 8'x4' table with plenty of scenery and each force deployed in a seperate corner.
The centre of the battlefield.

E! started first and split his forces into 3 groups, one to head off the Redemptionists, one to advance on the objective and the third to keep an eye on the other Imperial Guard force despite the declared alliance.
Arch was next and split his force into two, one to grab the objective and the other to engage E!'s guardsmen.
I similarly split my forces and Boy did likewise.
The first few turns went well for the IG and their lasguns picked off Redemptionists and Scavvys alike, whereas my scabrous raiding party failed to hit anything (damn my stupid keep it fluffy notions) and the intolerant robe wearers were similarly ineffective. At one point in the game my Scavvy heavy stubber (another Warzone figure) spent 5 turns trying to hit two lazy Cadian guardsmen in plain view only to be wasted in the 6th exchange.
Towards the latter stages of the game when close combat occurred both Scavvy's and the dress wearers started to rip through the guardsmen. The result of the game was victory for the forces of non humanity as they picked up the decoder and scarpered. All in all a fun game that we didn't bog down with too many additional rules.
Idolatror Jobes oversees the raid.
I suppose the end result is a win for the bad guys, Idolatror Jobes isn't exactly a full blown chaos cultist, more of a callous and cynical chancer who will do anything for money. Now that the decoder is his, he will sell it to the highest bidder regardless of the consequences.
The next photos I take will be better honest!

Some more paint.

Well I've finally gotten round to photographing some recently (and some not so recently) painted figures.

Dobbin McBludgeon

Here is my first offering, a Goliath horse-headed mutant. I loved making this one and will be a stalwart in my mutant army. All I did really was removed his angry Goliath head and give him an equine equivalent. I have about a dozen other mutant conversions on the go which I'll post when the mood takes me. For now I'll name him Dobbin McBludgeon.

Phaelps

My second figure is my Redeptionist Leader for Necromunda. It was originally intended to be entered into a painting competition over on Eastern Fringe Forums about 2 years ago, but then I always seem to drift in and out of enthusiasm for figures. Still it came out nice so I'm pretty pleased with it. I think I'll name him Phaelps in honour of the incredibly mental pastor in the Westboro Baptist Church and his equally offensive flock.

Whitescar

Next is my beastman conversion. It is a Black Tree Design crossbow armed beastman that I removed part of his right arm and replaced it with an Orlock plastic autogun and some milliput to tidy it all up.I painted a white scar down his face but it looks a bit like a chalk mark. oh well back to the drawing board.

Ay Psighker

Here's an old imperial sanctioned psyker that i particularly like. He has a variety of roles in 40K games Imperial Psyker, Genestealer Magus, Chaos Magos, or even Tefal-headed mutant with a gun and backscratcher type implement.

Boss Gitbag

Although I have never painted enough Orks to form an army I have a few painted up as they are just fantastically fun to paint. Here is Boss Gitbag a Blood Axe warboss with a currently very small warband that I hope to expand soon(ish).

Doc Badchop

Lastly Doc Badchop is an Ork Painboy that came out not too bad and I loved painting. the trousers were a bit of a mistake but i then decided that they looked a bit tye-dyed and so I left them.

Well thats all I'm putting up today. I have some Pit Slaves very nearly complete so hopefully I'll get them up soon. Apologies for my crap names especially the ones actually painted on the bases, that was a phase that I went through, that I seem to be well over now. Also sorry for the rather arbitrary nature of the capitalisation on the names of fictional things from the warhammer universe.
