Vindicare Assassin
I painted up a Vindicate Assassin to go in my Inquisition Cell. Also my Imperial Guard. Trouble is, I varnished the little fucker and got this awful chalky effect. That'll teach me to varnish in December! I recoated it with gloss and now I'm waiting for a nice 11C sort of day to respray with a matt varnish.

Little Erotically Posed Green Men
Back in the mid nineties I bought a pack of TSR figure that spent the next 20 years undercoated and that was about it. At the start of this year I started playing Inquisimunda and Sharts were born. I have no idea the name, abilities, gender of alignment of the models but I think that in the 41st millenium these creatures have the ability to excrete a powerful hallucinogen gas when threatened. Also the look how I imagine Yoda might look if he let himself go a bit and stripped off. A possibly fun scenario is a band of intergalactic smugglers try to catch the Sharts as they are extremely delicious but only if they're not startled (by gunfire). Of course the local law enforcement or environmentalists will have some thing to say about that!
One of the more bizarre aspects of this pack was that there are three standing/clambering over each other like a peculiar totem pole. I think the reasons behind this is between the sculptor and the design team. So I like the models but I don't know why they should have nipples. They don't look like mammals.

As they come in 3 single models and a group hug type one as well they could probably do some sort of mega fart when coupling, a sort of everyone within 2D6 inches test for hallucinogen gas. Just a thought.

Nice Models, Shame About The Paint
And for a new feature in my blog, called nice models shame about the paint showcases miniatures I've painted that are really nice sculpts, but unfortunately I didn't do them much justice. So anyway here are some Black Tree Design swamp orcs. Sadly I don't think they're still available anymore. But anyhoo I think they are cracking sculpts that I painted up as ghouls. They have also been seen on the tabletop as plague zombies, and will also feature in the not too distant as mutant cannibals from some dystopian nightmare.
I went for human flesh tones for two and Homer Simpson for the last. |
The One on the left could do with his horns being less monotone. |
On reflection this section could also be called Nice Models, Shame About The Photography, but it doesn't have the same ring to it. Anyway, that's all for this update, and hopefully I can finish a couple of other bits before years end.
Thanks for reading.
